How To Draw Beach Van Step By Step
Step 1 – Draw the Surfboards
Start at the top of your page and draw two long, smooth, slightly curved shapes to represent surfboards. Make one sit just above the other so they look stacked. Each surfboard should be narrow at the ends and wider in the middle. Add small triangular fins at the back of both boards. Keep your lines light and smooth so you can adjust the shape if needed.
Step 2 – Add the Roof and Rack
Under the surfboards, draw the roof of the van as a long, slightly curved rectangle. Then add the roof rack by drawing curved support bars that connect the roof to the surfboards. Sketch straps going over the boards to show they are secured. These straps should follow the curve of the boards and wrap down toward the roof.
Step 3 – Draw the Side Door
Now move down and draw the side door of the van. Create a tall, rounded rectangular shape that curves slightly at the bottom. Add a small circular or oval door handle near the middle. Don't forget to add the side mirror.
Step 4 – Add the Front Bumper
At the front lower part of the van, draw a rounded bumper that sticks out slightly. Give it some thickness by adding a second line underneath. You can also sketch small curved ends on both sides of the bumper to make it look more dimensional.
Step 5 – Outline the Van Body
Now draw the full body of the van by connecting the roof, front, and back. Use smooth, rounded lines to give it that classic retro van shape. Add the wheel arches by drawing curved cutouts where the wheels will go. Make sure the proportions look balanced so the van doesn’t look too tall or too short.
Step 6 – Draw Windows and Windshield
Add the front windshield by drawing a large, slightly curved rectangle at the front. Divide it into two sections and draw windshield wipers resting at the bottom. Then draw the side windows and rear window using rounded rectangular shapes. Keep them aligned and evenly spaced for a clean look.
Step 7 – Add Details and Decorations
Enhance your drawing by adding details like headlights, a small front grille, and circular lights. On the side of the van, draw fun decorations such as the words “EXPLORE” and “TRAVEL.” You can also add a small palm tree graphic and simple lines or shapes to give it a beach vibe. This step adds personality to your van.
Step 8 – Draw the Wheels
Draw two large circles under the van for the wheels. Inside each wheel, add smaller circles to represent the rims. You can also add an extra ring to give the tires more depth and detail. Make sure both wheels are aligned properly with the body.
Step 9 – Finalize Beach Van Drawing
Go over your entire drawing and trace the final lines with a darker, cleaner stroke. Erase any extra sketch lines or mistakes. Refine small details like edges, curves, and decorations. Once everything looks clean and balanced, your beach van drawing is complete and ready for coloring if you like.
